This lecture was very interesting because weaving is a type of art that I've never really looked at. I enjoyed listening to Ms. Jones discuss her process, especially since most of it is very unique; making her own yarn and dying it herself is extremely impressive. I also thought it was interesting to learn about how she draws inspiration from nature and uses it in her work; adding in the different natural elements makes her work even more special and personal. Additionally, it was helpful to hear about her struggle to find a major in college. As someone who doesn't really know what they want to do with their life right now, it was comforting and encouraging to hear that it's alright to take your time and really find something you're passionate about. I would like to use some of her techniques to find inspiration into my own work; it can be a struggle to come up with ideas for work, and I believe that it will be helpful to go out into the world and let inspiration come to me, like how Ms. Jones goes on walks and into nature when she needs ideas. This lecture was very interesting and informative, and I enjoyed looking at the work and learning about its creation.
