Figure Drawing 9/15/25

It's pretty crazy that this will be my last time drawing with Tommy, but I feel that this experience has helped me grow as an artist. Tommy emphasized the importance of drawing what you see and making shapes not symbols, and these tips are ones that I continue to use even as I make non-realistic artwork. I enjoyed seeing how my sketches and drawings developed throughout the workshop, and ideas such as gesture drawings are ones that have proved themselves to be useful and ones that I will keep practicing throughout the year. I hope that even as I make more unrealistic pieces I can continue to use figures and portraiture to create meaning and interest.
