Fantastic Four: Reflection

Over the course of the play pages, most of what I depicted were humans or various parts of the human body, including many eyes for the second stage of pages. The majority of these pages explore the theme of identity, and how specific parts of the body can be used to express thoughts and feelings. Looking at the eyes, none of them are relaxed or in a neutral position; I made a point of only drawing eyes which displayed more intense emotions, like fear or sadness. I really enjoyed using colored pencil as well as normal pencil, and I would definitely like to explore those more. Additionally, I used gouache for one of the pieces, and I would like to do more painting but maybe with acrylic instead. I really enjoy drawing, and I think painting with mixed media is very fun to work with. Making the colored pencil drawing and the gouache painting were probably the two pieces I have the most fun making. I would say that the gouache and colored pencil eyes turned out the best, and that they were the most interesting and dynamic. A couple of the normal pencil drawings, like one that I did of Freddy Mercury, were also effective and conveyed the emotion and theme well.
