August Dynamic Duo

During August I started and completed my project for the "Heart" portion. I had a lot more fun making this project that the Head one, and I definitely tried to just have fun with it and not put as much pressure on myself to make it perfect. This work is inspired by the Pink Floyd song "One of My Turns", and I worked to try and have it capture the feelings Roger Waters expresses in the song. There are a lot of reds and oranges in the chaotic background, and I chose to draw the person in black and white because it almost seems like their soul and feeling has left their body in the song. I really wanted to incorporate the lyrics, so I decided to have them follow the lines of the paint. For the most part their placement is random, but I did try to place more significant lyrics closer to the figure. Over all, I'm really happy with how both pieces turned out, but the Heart project was by far my favorite to work on.
